The results of the unified Alternative Approval Process held from June 3-July 5 have been released.
Fewer than 10 percent of voters registered their opposition for the two new community facility services, the Saratoga Beach mosquito abatement service and borrowing for the Comox Valley sewer system conveyance project. With the adoption of the respective bylaws, the CVRD can proceed with these initiatives.
However, the three proposed roadside garbage collection services in Electoral Areas A, B and C each received elector response forms from more than 10 percent of the voters.

Electoral Area Directors are kicking off 2021 with fresh plans for continued community outreach in the year to come. In 2019, Directors launched a regular newsletter for their areas and hosted information booths at community events. While 2020 meant that in-person opportunities weren’t possible, newsletters and an online community update via Zoom did proceed. This year, Directors are continuing those efforts until it’s safe for community gatherings again – and adding this new online engagement hub at ConnectCVRD to be able to provide updates throughout the year.
Share your questions and ideas by clicking on the tabs above – and the CVRD team will provide updates on projects and services. We look forward to having you here.
